Start running. Make it stick. Build a habit that fits your life.

Ready, Set, Run

Join Dr. Michelle Quirk for a kinder, more sustainable way for busy women physicians to start, or restart, running.

You don't need more time, more motivation, or more willpower. You need a running plan that fits the life you're already living.

Imagine if running became part of your life.

Instead of constantly thinking “I should really start exercising.” You have a run on your calendar, and you actually look forward to it.

Instead of “I don't have time.” You know how to fit movement into the life you already have.

Instead of “I'm afraid I'm going to get hurt.” You understand how to build gradually, listen to your body, and adjust when necessary.

Instead of “I always quit.” You start to trust yourself again.

Instead of arriving at Thanksgiving thinking “Maybe next year I'll finally become a runner.” You'll be standing at the 5k start line thinking “I actually did this.”

In this 8-week small-group program, you'll gradually build from walk/run intervals toward a 5k, with personalized coaching, accountability, and support along the way.

Goal: Cross the finish line of a Thanksgiving Turkey Trot feeling proud, capable, and excited about where running can take you next. We're training for a 5k, but we're really building something that lasts well beyond race day.

We begin 10/5/26.

Who is Ready, Set, Run for?

This program is for you if…

  • You're a woman physician who wants to start running or return to running after time away.

  • You've tried running before but struggled to make it stick.

  • You keep thinking, “I just don't have time.”

  • You want to exercise but don't want another punishing item on your to-do list.

  • You're worried about getting injured.

  • You want someone to tell you how much is enough instead of constantly wondering if you're doing too much or too little.

  • You want accountability and encouragement without being shamed when life gets in the way.

  • You'd love to cross the finish line of a 5k this fall, but you also want to enjoy the process of getting there.

  • You want running to become something you do for yourself, not something you're failing at.

This program is NOT for you if…

  • You're looking for a hardcore training program designed to maximize speed or performance.

  • You want to go from zero to 5k as quickly as possible.

  • You believe every workout needs to leave you exhausted to “count.”

  • You're looking for someone to yell at you to push harder.

  • You're unwilling to adjust your training when your body or your life tells you that you need to.

  • You're already an experienced runner looking for an aggressive PR-focused training plan.

This is running with a different philosophy.

You don't need to prove how tough you are.

You get to learn how to run in a way that supports the life you want to live.

Here’s what you’ll get inside Ready, Set, Run

8 Live Coaching Sessions

A plan is only helpful if you know how to use it. We'll meet live each week to talk through the week's focus, troubleshoot what's getting in the way, answer your questions, and help you keep moving forward.

Your Personalized Run/Walk Training Plan

Your plan will gradually build toward the 5k using run/walk intervals, and we'll adjust the intervals based on your starting point and experience.

Training Journal

Consistency isn't just about miles. Use the journal to notice what's working, identify obstacles, and develop a better understanding of your own runner's mindset.

The “Life Happens” Buffer

You are a busy professional, and life happens. You don't need to panic because you missed a workout. There's room for travel, illness, busy weeks, unexpected responsibilities, and simply needing a little extra rest.

You are never behind.

Dr. Michelle Quirk is a board certified pediatrician and a certified run coach with the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). She founded Mindful Marathon to help women physicians use running as a path to healing, self-discovery, and sustainable wellbeing.

Michelle loves the balance she feels with a regular movement and rest practice, and she cannot wait to share the powerful results that can be achieved when movement is balanced with rest.I remember what it was like to feel discouraged and stuck when I started out in the sport.

I’m all about celebrating our current fitness, wherever that happens to be, and I’m a big believer in the idea that every runner starts from somewhere.
